Sacral Occipital Technique (SOT)
Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) is a gentle and safe chiropractic technique. Its’ name is derived from the relationship between the base of the spine, the Sacrum and the base of the skull, the Occiput. It was developed by Dr Major De Jarnette in 1925 a Chiropractor and Osteopath in the U.S.A. Dr De Jarnette had a special interest in the relationship between the sacrum and the occipital bones. It was this interest which led him to study and thus develop this gentle chiropractic technique. In science it has been shown that the Sacrum functions to pump Cerebro-Spinal Fluid (CSF) from the base of the skull to the brain and the Occipital bone helps pump CSF throughout the whole nervous system. This relationship is important to overall health and wellbeing. SOT is a system which works well with other types of gentle chiropractic techniques. Chiropractors who are trained in SOT focus on the mechanical and neurological relationship of the Sacrum and Occiput, detecting and correcting any dysfunctions in these systems. www.soto.net.au
The Activator Technique is a gentle chiropractic technique used by chiropractors to treat many types of health issues. The Activator Technique utilizes a small, hand-held instrument called the Activator to deliver a gentle impulse force to the spine with the aim being to restore motion to the affected joint. The Activator Method was initially developed by Dr. Arlan Fuhr in 1967 in the U.S.A. After many years of research and development the first Activator adjusting instrument was produced in 1978 by Activator Methods International. The Activator Adjusting Instrument is a hand held, cordless, spring loaded instrument, which works by sending a consistent impulse to a specific joint. Research has shown that this impulse restores the normal range of motion in the affected joint. The Activator technique is a gentle safe chiropractic technique which can be used in conjunction with other types of gentle chiropractic modalities. www.activator.com
Atlas Orthogonal is a gentle chiropractic technique, which focuses on the first cervical vertebrae C1 also known as the Atlas. Chiropractors must complete specific training which enables them to be certified in applying the atlas orthogonal technique. The atlas orthogonal technique consists of a system of thorough physical, orthopaedic and neurological examinations and specific atlas radiographs. Once the chiropractor has analysed the results, treatment is applied the client. The adjustment is gentle, safe and very specific. It is done using the Atlas Orthogonal Styloid hand held instrument. This is placed on the side of the affected atlas and a gentle impulse sends a vibration impulse force to the affected atlas joint, with the aim of restoring proper upper neck and whole body function. There are only 15 certified Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractors Australia wide and at Wellbeing Chiropractic our doctors are qualified in the atlas orthogonal technique and are available for consultation six days a week at two convenient locations, Pakenham and Hawthorn.www.atlasorthogonal.com.au
Flexion Distraction Technique
Flexion Distraction is a gentle chiropractic technique used by the doctors at Wellbeing Chiropractic. This device requires a special treatment table, a Flexion-Distraction table, Wellbeing Hawthorn has a Cox Flexion-Distraction table onsite. Flexion Distraction is a gentle chiropractic technique where the special table is used to put the targeted vertebral joint complex in a flexion position and then the doctor applies a distraction force to further open up the joint space. Flexion Distraction technique has been very successful in the management of disc injuries, low back pain, neck pain and many other neuro-mechanical presentations. Latest research has shown that flexion distraction technique is more beneficial than traction therapy in the cases of cervical disc rehabilitation (1).www.coxtechnic.com

Arthro Stim Hand Held Chiropractic Technique.
