Are Chiropractors open during COVID-19?

Yes, Chiropractors have been classified as an essential service by the Australian Government.

LATEST UPDATE (18th July 2021)

If you are in pain or your condition is likely to worsen if not seen by our Chiropractors you can attend.

If you have a routine appointment for “prevention” or non-urgent care please call the clinic to reschedule after any government-enforced “snap-lock down” or “circuit breaker” lock down event.

An updated statement from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) states that all public and private health services are permitted during any government-enforced “snap-lock down” or “circuit breaker” lock down event.

“All AHPRA registered health workers – and any other health worker required to fulfil a care plan endorsed by NDIS, TAC, Workcover or DVA – to provide services that prevent a significant change/deterioration in functional independence…”

In short, this means that if your chiropractic care is necessary for you, you may continue to attend your appointments.

Masks are necessary for your appointment and temperature checks will be taken upon arrival.

What Precautions Are Our Clinics Taking For COVID-19?

Our Chiropractic clinics are practicing social distancing and disinfectant cleaning techniques. All our Chiropractors have completed an eLearning course in Infection Control Training from the Australian Government Department of Health. Our Chiropractors are doing the following to ensure they minimise the risk of COVID-19 spread in the community. They:

  • Sanitise their hands in between each patient,
  • Are under strict instruction to stay home if they are not feeling 100%,
  • Wipe down benches between patients with alcohol based sanitising wipes,
  • Spray Glen-20 disinfectant spray regularly,
  • Have hand sanitiser available at reception for patient use upon arrival,
  • Regularly clean EFTPOS machines, door handles and surfaces that patient contact
  • Ask on the phone if patients are feeling symptoms, traveled overseas in the last 4 weeks or have been in close contact with someone who has the Corona Virus
  • Maintain social distancing in waiting rooms
  • Offer that patients remain in their cars until the time of their appointment
  • Staggering patient appointments so that their is a minimum number of people within the clinic
  • Increasing ventilation throughout practices by opening windows and doors for fresh air
