Wellbeing Chiropractic is following a COVID-Safe plan and following DHHS recommendations.

COVID-19 Stage 4 Restrictions & Chiropractors

On Monday 3rd August 2020, Melbourne entered Stage 4 lockdown. Wellbeing Chiropractic offers essential ALLIED HEALTH services.

We are open reduced hours and operating with our strict proactive and clear response COVID-safe plan in place.

We are limiting Chiropractic appointments to patients who require appointments to prevent their condition from significantly deteriorating.

Chiropractors can only consult where the patient’s care is non-routine care.

Our team will contact patients with pre existing appointment to determine whether their upcoming appointment is suitable.

An updated statement from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) states that all public and private health services are permitted:

“All AHPRA registered health workers – and any other health worker required to fulfil a care plan endorsed by NDIS, TAC, Workcover or DVA – to provide services that prevent a significant change/deterioration in functional independence…”

Masks are necessary for your appointment and temperature checks will be taken upon arrival.

Chiropractors will all be wearing face shield, face masks and gloves.

FAQ’s we’ve already been asked

Is Wellbeing Chiropractic OPEN in stage 4?

Yes. All our locations are open, some at reduced hours, for non-routine appointments.

All routine appointments (non-urgent, preventive, “maintenance”)  should be rescheduled until after stage 4 restrictions end (13th September 2020)

We have contacted patients with future routine appointments and rescheduled.

If you are still unsure if you should attend or if your appointment is “non-routine” feel free to call your chiropractor at the clinic, the central phone is  1300-123-365

Can I travel for my appointment more than 5kms from home during stage 4?

Yes. The DHHS has advised  “You can leave home to receive health care or attend medical appointments. If you need to see a doctor or health care professional, you should do so. Do not put off getting medical care”.

You are allowed to travel more than 5kms from your home for healthcare reasons, such as for an appointment.

Will Remedial Massage and Myotherapy be open during stage 4 lock down?

Routine Remedial Massage & Myotherapy and relaxation massage is not permitted.

The only exceptions are massage services that are under GP referral, workcover,  or part of an NDIS plan, that are required so the condition/health does not significantly deteriorate.

What if I am stopped for questioning by authorities or the police to or from the clinic?

* Show you SMS confirmation

* The receipt of payment

* Contact the practice you attended and we can confirm your appointment over the phone.

What about the 8pm curfew?

The 8.00pm curfew does not apply for healthcare.

Given our last appointment for the day is normally 7.00pm so this should not be an issue. If however you are heading home after 8.00pm – you must go straight home.

When should I reschedule/cancel my appointment?

The following are reasons where you should reschedule:

* If you appointment is non-urgent or a routine appointment you should wait until after stage 4 restrictions (13th September 2020)

* If you have been a close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID or are waiting on a diagnosis yourself,.

What else are we doing to help?

* All practitioners are wearing relevant PPE equipment; these include face shields, masks and gloves

* We are cleaning tables and treatment areas between patients.

* Using hand santisier

* Maintaining social distancing when possible

* Have installed perspex guards at reception for your and our receptions staff’s safety.

Stay well!
