Chiropractic History
The origins of Chiropractic date back to 1895 where Daniel David (DD) Palmer founded the first school of Chiropractic. Daniel David (DD) Palmer, who at the time was interested in natural healing, hypothesized that spinal misalignment may be the cause of many problems. DD Palmer performed a spinal adjustment on a friend’s (Harvey Lillard) neck who was suffering from hearing difficulties. Now while Chiropractic is not a cure for deafness, it was after this time that Chiropractic was born! Fast forward to today and many people seek the help of Chiropractors for common musculo-skeletal related problems including back pain, muscle tension and neck discomfort. Chiropractic treatment may assist in a range of musculo-skeletal conditions and health concerns.

What do our Chiropractors do?

Wellbeing Chiropractic is part of only a few professions which use these techniques. There a limited number of practices in Melbourne that has a wide range of techniques to help the majority of their patients.
These techniques include:
- Postural Assessment - As well as rehabilitation programs tailored for the individual patients needs.
- Diversified Technique - Which is a full spine manual technique. This technique uses a corrective force that is applied by the Chiropractors hands to assist an area of the body which is restricted in order to restore range of motion. This can be applied to ay part of the musculo-skeletal system.
- Sacral Occipital Technique - Also uses a different approach to traditional Chiropractic adjusting. This technique uses blocks or wedges which are placed in regions of the body.
- Activator Technique - Is a lower force for adjusting. It uses an instrument called an activator to deliver an impulse into a joint or muscle in order to regain its optimum function.
- Spinal Decompression Technique - Is one of our newer additions, it may allow patients with spinal degeneration or disc herniation/injuries to reduce pain and increase mobility. We are some of the only practices in Melbourne to offer this service.
