John Ooi is a highly skilled Remedial Massage Therapist specialising in rehabilitation, injury prevention, and maintenance care. A proud alumni of RMIT University, he developed his clinical expertise at the RMIT Student Clinic in Melbourne CBD, where he worked with a diverse range of clients, addressing musculoskeletal issues, chronic pain, and postural imbalances.
With a background as a national-level swimmer, John has firsthand experience with the physical demands of high-performance sports and understands the importance of injury management and recovery. His expertise lies in treating back and shoulder tension, office-related postural strain, and sports injuries, making him particularly effective in working with office workers, athletes, and individuals recovering from injuries.
John is fully qualified in Trigger Point Therapy, Digital Extremity Pressure (DIP) for targeted knot release, Dry Needling, and Lymphatic Drainage Therapy. He utilises evidence-based techniques, including deep tissue massage, myofascial release, and neuromuscular therapy, to improve mobility, relieve muscle tension, and enhance overall physical function.
Passionate about sports rehabilitation, John has contributed his skills as a volunteer with the Fitzroy Aboriginal Basketball Team, Craigieburn Student Sports Program, and Youth Soccer Teams, providing hands-on support in injury management and performance recovery. His knowledge of biomechanics and movement patterns allows him to develop effective treatment strategies tailored to each client’s needs.
